Creamy and decadent Southern Chocolate Pie is a classic favorite.
Ingredients
- 1, 4 ounce package Baker's sweet chocolate squares
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell, with high rim
- 1 1/3 cups coconut flakes
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
Directions
- Stir chocolate and butter over low heat until melted and smooth. Remove; blend in evaporated milk and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla; blend in chocolate. Pour into pie shell; top with coconut and nuts.
- Bake at 375 degrees F for 45 to 50 minutes, or until top is puffed. Filling will set while cooling. Cool 4 hours.
