Bread pudding and sauce recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 cups toasted bread crumbs, rolled
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 quart milk
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Cream together the bread and sugar. Mix in the remaining ingredients.
  2. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until firm.
  3. To make the sauce: In a sauce pan combine 1 pint milk, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 2 eggs and 1 cup sugar. Stir until it thickens. Add in vanilla flavoring.
