Skillet fried cornbread drops.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons shortening
Directions
- Mix together the cornmeal, soda and salt. Stir in the eggs and buttermilk. Continue mixing until smooth.
- Heat oil in a skillet. Use a tablespoon to drop dough into the oil. Cook until browned on both sides. Drain.
