Shrimp Au Gratin is a savory and creamy classic for seafood lovers.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- dash of black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1 pound shrimp, boiled, shelled, deveined
- 1 can whole mushrooms
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
Directions
- Melt butter, saute onion; add flour, salt, mustard, pepper and cook until bubbly, stirring constantly.
- Add milk until bubbly, 3/4 cup of the cheese; stir until melted. Add shrimp and mushrooms.
- Put in buttered casserole or individual shells; combine crumbs and 1/4 cup cheese; sprinkle over top and dot with butter.
- Bake at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes.
