Shrimp Au Gratin is a savory and creamy classic for seafood lovers.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • dash of black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 pound shrimp, boiled, shelled, deveined
  • 1 can whole mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Melt butter, saute onion; add flour, salt, mustard, pepper and cook until bubbly, stirring constantly.
  2. Add milk until bubbly, 3/4 cup of the cheese; stir until melted. Add shrimp and mushrooms.
  3. Put in buttered casserole or individual shells; combine crumbs and 1/4 cup cheese; sprinkle over top and dot with butter.
  4. Bake at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes.
