Shrimp balls with tomato sauce gravy.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoons green onions, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • GRAVY INGREDIENTS:
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 cups water

Directions

  1. Grind together the shrimp, onion and garlic. Add in the rest of the ingredients. Form into small balls and roll in the flour.
  2. For the gravy: make a roux of flour and oil and saute the onions and green peppers in it. Stir in the water until smooth. Blend in the remaining ingredients.
  3. Add the shrimp balls to the gravy and simmer for 2 hours.
