This sleek, sexy and dangerously dark cocktail is every bit as intense as its name. The addition of Averna, an Italian liqueur, gives it a rich and complex flavor.

Ingredients

2 ounces bourbon
1 ounce Averna
1 dash Angostura bitters
Maraschino cherry to garnish

Directions

Place a martini glass in the freezer for 5 minutes to chill.
Put all of the ingredients, except for the garnish, into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously to combine for 30 seconds.
Pour the mixture into the prepared glass and garnish with the cherry; serve immediately.
