Serve Scottish Oat Scones warm at breakfast or brunch with butter, preserves or honey.
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup butter, melted
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/4 cups oatmeal, uncooked
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup raisins
Directions
- Add butter, milk and eggs to combined dry ingredients. Mix just until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in raisins.
- Shape dough into a ball. Pat out on lightly floured surface to form a 8 inch circle. Cut into 8 wedges.
- Bake on greased cookie sheet at 425 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown.
