Serve Scottish Oat Scones warm at breakfast or brunch with butter, preserves or honey.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 cups oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Directions

  1. Add butter, milk and eggs to combined dry ingredients. Mix just until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in raisins.
  2. Shape dough into a ball. Pat out on lightly floured surface to form a 8 inch circle. Cut into 8 wedges.
  3. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 425 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown.
