Sambuca, an anise-flavored Italian liqueur made from elderberries, is used in this Sazerac cocktail giving it a delicious Italian twist.
- 1/4 ounce blood orange bitters
- 1 ounce rye whiskey
- 1 teaspoon Sambuca
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and then add the bitters, rye whiskey and Sambuca.
- Slowly stir the mixture for 30 seconds to chill and then strain into a rocks cocktail glass. Serve immediately.
