This rye whiskey, bitters and absinthe cocktail is a simple, yet truly sophisticated and robust mixed drink.


  • 2 ounces Rye Whiskey
  • 3 dashes Bitters
  • 1/2 ounce absinthe
  • Lemon zest peel to garnish


  1. Place a cocktail glass in the freezer for 5 minutes to chill.
  2. Pour the absinthe into the prepared glass and tilt the glass to coat the inside. Pour out any extra absinthe, and then add the rye and the bitters.
  3. Garnish the drink with a lemon zest peel and serve immediately.
