Rye whiskey acts as the perfect base spirit for a combination of muddled fresh mint and lemon with two kinds of bitters.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces rye whiskey
- half lemon, quartered
- 4 mint leaves
- 3/4 ounce simple syrup
- 1 dash Aromatic Bitters
- 1 dash Orange Bitters
- Mint sprig to garnish
Directions
- Place the lemon and mint into a cocktail shaker and muddle gently. Add the rye, simple syrup and bitters to the shaker and fill with ice.
- Shake the mixture for 30 seconds to combine and then strain into a glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a mint sprig and serve immediately.
