Using rum in this cocktail, instead of bourbon or brandy, gives this milk punch a rich and slightly spicy flavor.


  • 2 ounces light rum
  • 2 ounces cold milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon dark rum
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup
  • grated nutmeg to garnish


  1. Place all of the ingredients, except for the nutmeg, into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Vigorously shake the mixture for 35 seconds and then strain into a cocktail glass.
  3. Garnish the drink with the grated nutmeg and then serve immediately.
