Rum makes the perfect backdrop for this sweet and sassy cobbler made with German Kirsch; a clear fruit brandy made from sour cherries.


  • 1 teaspoon superfine sugar
  • 3 ounces club soda
  • 2 ounces rum
  • 1 ounce kirsch
  • Slice of orange to garnish


  1. Place a rocks glass into the freezer for 5 minutes to chill.
  2. Put the sugar into the prepared glass with a splash of club soda to dissolve.
  3. Fill the chilled glass with cracked ice and then add the rum and kirsch; serve immediately.
