Red Eye Gravy

Red eye gravy is made form the drippings of pan fried meat. Be sure to not use batter or flour in the frying of the meat.


  • hot drippings
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup cold water


  1. Pour the drippings from the fried meat into a gravy bowl.
  2. Add the sugar to the skillet, and brown in the fat residue. Add the cold water and simmer for 30 seconds, or until blended. Pour into the gravy bowl.
