• small jar maraschino cherries
• 1 1/2 cup apples, chopped fine
• pinch of salt
• 1 cup hot water
• 1 cup pecans, chopped
• 1 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon ground cloves
