According to the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, the location where this drink was first created, this is the original recipe for the ambiguous cocktail.
Ingredients
- 3 ounces pineapple juice
- 1-1/2 ounces gin
- 1/2 ounce Cherry Heering
- 1/4 ounce Bénédictine
- 1/4 ounce Cointreau
- 1/4 ounce fresh lime juice
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- Cherry and orange slice to garnish
Directions
- Place all of the ingredients, except for garnish and soda water, into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Vigorously shake the mixture for 35 seconds and then strain into a cocktail glass filled with fresh ice.
- Top the drink with the chilled soda water and then garnish with the cherry and orange slice; serve immediately.
