Fall is the time of year when we start thinking about stick to your ribs comfort foods for ourselves and our families.  Imagine a delicious pan of Shepard's Pie awaiting your family on a busy weeknight.  This is the quick and easy meal for you.


  • 1 pound ground meat
  • 2 cups hot mashed potatoes
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 4 cups frozen mixed vegetables (thawed)
  • 1 cup beef gravy


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Brown ground meat in large frying pan
  3. Combine potatoes, cream cheese, half of the cheddar cheese and garlic in a medium bowl
  4. Add vegetables and gravy to meat then place in a prepared square baking dish
  5. "Frost" with potato mixture then sprinkle on remaining cheddar cheese
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until heated
