This spiced bread makes a cozy afternoon snack, especially on those cold days in Fall.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange rind
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2-1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions

  1. Cream butter, sugar, eggs, pumpkin, orange rind and juice; set aside.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  3. Blend flour combination into pumpkin mixture.
  4. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
