A delicious award winning coffee cake that is sure to be a hit.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup soft shortening
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flour an 8-inch square baking pan.
- Cream together the sugar, shortening and egg. Stir in the milk.
- Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together into a separate bowl. Gradually add to the liquid mixture, mixing well.
- Spread batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with the cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
