Layered potatoes and cream.
Ingredients
- 4 medium white potatoes
- 1/2 small onion
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 2 1/2 tablespoons flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups cream
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
Directions
- Slice the potatoes and onion into thin, round slices.
- Melt 3 tablespoons of the butter in a skillet, stir in flour, salt and pepper. Slowly add in the cream, stirring until it thickens.
- Layer the potatoes and onions and cover with sauce. Continue to repeat until finished.
- Combine the bread crumbs and the remaining butter and sprinkle on top.
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Cover the dish and bake for 30 minutes.
