Layered potatoes and cream.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium white potatoes
  • 1/2 small onion
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups cream
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Slice the potatoes and onion into thin, round slices.
  2. Melt 3 tablespoons of the butter in a skillet, stir in flour, salt and pepper. Slowly add in the cream, stirring until it thickens.
  3. Layer the potatoes and onions and cover with sauce. Continue to repeat until finished.
  4. Combine the bread crumbs and the remaining butter and sprinkle on top.
  5. Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Cover the dish and bake for 30 minutes.
