Warm buttered scones are a tasty accompaniment to hot coffee and tea. Enjoy these poppy seed drop scones that can be prepared in just 10 minutes and on your table in 20.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and grease a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
- Place the flours, oats, raisins, poppy seeds, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a bowl and whisk well to combine.
- In another bowl, mix together the butter, buttermilk and egg and then add to the dry mixture.
- Drop the dough by 1/4 cupfuls onto the prepared cookie sheet and then place in the oven for 20 minutes. Serve warm.
