Polish Sausage and Sauerkraut

I love the tangy taste of sauerkraut with sausage.

Ingredients

  • 3 strips bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 2 pounds Polish sausage, cut into pieces
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 2 27 oz cans sauerkraut
  • 2 potatoes, cubed
  • 2 apples, cored and cubed
  • 3 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions

  1. Fry bacon and sausage until crisp, drain.
  2. Add flour to drippings and blend well.
  3. Stir in sauerkraut, mix well.
  4. Pour sauerkraut mixture, bacon, and sausage pieces in crock pot.
  5. Add all other ingredients, stir together.
  6. Cover and cook on low 7 to 9 hours (high 3 to 4 hours).
