This rum-based punch’s creation was credited to Jerry Thomas of the Planter’s Hotel in St. Louis at the time of its inception in about 1840. Its refreshing taste and mellow flavor continue to make it a favorite decade after decade.
- 2 ounces Dark Rum
- 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 1 ounce simple syrup
- 3/4 ounce fresh passion fruit puree
- orange wedge to garnish
- Fill a tall cocktail glass with ice and then add the dark rum, fresh lemon juice and simple syrup.
- Drizzle the top of the cocktail with the fresh passion fruit puree and then garnish with the orange wedge; serve immediately.
