Basic pie shell recipe.


  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 2-3 tablespoons ice water


  1. Mix together the flour and salt. Cut in the shortening until coarse and crumbly. Mix in the ice water using a fork, 1 tablespoon at a time. Shape into a ball.
  2. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness.
