Southern pickled slaw recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 head cabbage, shredded
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 5 cucumbers, chopped
- 10 radishes, chopped
- 4 stalks celery, chopped
- 3 carrots, shredded
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
- 1/4 teaspoons cloves, ground
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 cup catsup
- 1 cup cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
Directions
- Combine everything but the vegetables in a saucepan. Boil, stirring until dissolved. Chill.
- Combine the vegetables and coat with the vinegar mixture.
