Southern pickled slaw recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage, shredded
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 5 cucumbers, chopped
  • 10 radishes, chopped
  • 4 stalks celery, chopped
  • 3 carrots, shredded
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoons cloves, ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup catsup
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions

  1. Combine everything but the vegetables in a saucepan. Boil, stirring until dissolved. Chill.
  2. Combine the vegetables and coat with the vinegar mixture.
