If a traditional Manhattan cocktail is a bit too sweet for your liking, adjust the amount of sweet vermouth to equate the amount of dry vermouth thus making what’s called a ‘Perfect Manhattan.’
Ingredients
- Ice cubes
- 2 ounces rye whiskey
- 1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
- 1/2 ounce dry vermouth
- 2 dashes angostura bitters
- 1 maraschino cherry
Directions
- Pre-chill a cocktail glass in the freezer for 5 minutes with the cherry garnish.
- Fill a cocktail shaker two-thirds full with ice and then pour in the whiskey, sweet and dry vermouths and the bitters.
- Stir the mixture for 35 seconds to chill and then strain into the prepared glass.
