Pea and okra vegetable side dish.
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh field peas
- 4 1/2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 pound salt pork
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
- 8 pods okra
Directions
- Mix together everything but the okra in a pot. Cover and cook on medium heat for 30 minutes.
- Add the okra and cook for 15 more minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
