These spiced muffins make a cozy breakfast treat, especially alongside a hot cup of coffee.
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded pear
Directions
- Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix in butter until mixture becomes crumbly. Measure 3/4 cup of mixture to be used for topping and add in cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Beat eggs, milk and pear. Mix into remaining flour mixture.
- Pour batter into the prepared muffin tin. Sprinkle crumb topping over each muffin.
- Bake at 375 degrees F for 25-30 minutes.
