Peanut Butter-Jelly Twists are a nice treat for brunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup raspberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Directions

  1. In large mixer bowl combine 1 cup of the flour and the yeast. Heat milk, sugar, butter and 1 teaspoon salt till warm (115-120 degrees), stirring to melt butter. Add to dry mixture; add egg. Beat at low speed with mixer for 1/2 minute, scraping bowl. Beat 3 minutes at high speed. Stir in remaining flour; beat well. Cover; let rest 1/2 hour.
  2. Roll dough into a 16 by 10 inch rectangle. Spread peanut butter over lengthwise half; spread jam on top. Fold to make a 16 by 5 inch rectangle; seal edges.
  3. Cut crosswise into 1 inch strips. Loosely twist each; arrange in greased 9 by 13 inch baking dish. Brush with melted butter. Cover; let rise till double, about 1 1/4 hours. Bake at 375 degrees F for 15 to 20 minutes.
