Creamy oyster stew recipe.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 pint oysters, with liquid
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon paprika
Directions
- Place the oysters and the liquid in a saucepan. Boil until the edge of the oysters shrivels and curls. Stir in butter until melted.
- Reduce heat to medium, stir in the milk and cream. Add the salt and pepper. Bring to a light boil.
- Serve hot with paprika on top.
- **If using fresh oysters, use 1 cup of water in place of the canned liquid.**
