Do you like rye bread? Well, Overnight Rye Bread makes 4 loaves. That should be enough!
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 3 cups water
- 1/4 cup dark molasses
- 1 cup sugar
- caraway seeds, optional
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 package dry yeast
- 4 cups rye flour
- 8 1/2 cups white flour
Directions
- Heat liquid to lukewarm. Add all the other ingredients and knead until it does not stick to floured board. Grease the dough, cover and let rise overnight.
- Shape into 4 loaves and let rise to double in bulk. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.
