Perfect for a winter meal, Oven Beef Stew takes 6 to 7  hours to cook. 

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds stew beef, cubed
  • 2 cups potatoes, chopped
  • 2 cups green beans
  • 2 cups carrots, chopped
  • 2 cups peas
  • 3/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 quart tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tapioca
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients except bread crumbs in 4 quart baking pan, mixing well. Top with crumbs. Bake covered, at 250 degrees F for 6 to 7 hours.
