Oven Baked French Toast with Fruit Sauce

This is a fast way to serve French Toast to a small group.

Ingredients

  • French Toast
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 8 slices your favorite bread.
  • Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 6 ounces of fruit nectar
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Directions

  1. French Toast
  2. Spray a cookie sheet with non stick spray and set aside.
  3. In a shallow bowl, beat eggs, milk, cinnamon and vanilla.
  4. Dip the bread slices, 1 at a time into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  5. Place them on the cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 450 degrees F. for 6 minutes, turn the slices over and bake 6 more minutes.
  7. Sauce
  8. In small saucepan whisk together the water and cornstarch.
  9. Stir in apricot nectar and honey.
  10. Cook and stir over medium heat until the mixture thickens and begins to gently boil.
  11. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
  12. Serve 2 slices of French Toast on each plate with warm sauce drizzled over them.
