This Bols Genever and cognac blended cocktail, which means ‘Old Square’ in Dutch, is a concoction created by Michael Dietsch, a writer, editor and bartender extraordinaire.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 ounces Bols Genever
- 1-1/2 ounces cognac
- 1/2 ounces sweet vermouth
- 1 teaspoon Benedictine
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
Directions
- Pour all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Slowly stir the mixture for about 30 seconds and then strain into a cocktail glass with 1 large ice cube; serve immediately.
