Orange Cinnamon Crisps make great tea cookies.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- grated rind of one orange
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Directions
- Beat 1 cup sugar, shortening, egg, vanilla and orange rind together. Add orange juice. Stir in flour, soda and salt. Shape dough into walnut size balls.
- Combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon. Dip ball is sugar cinnamon mixture and place on baking sheet. Flatten with bottom of a glass dipped in additional sugar. Bake 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees until golden brown.
