These soft and chewy cookies make a cozy afternoon snack on a cold, crisp Fall day. Consider baking a batch to share with a friend or neighbor.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1-1/2 cups oats
  • 1-1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup raisins

Directions

  1. Cream butter, sugar, brown sugar, egg and applesauce.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  3. Blend flour combination into applesauce mixture.
  4. Fold in raisins.
  5. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
