Peanut butter bars with a chocolate pecan frosting.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup peanut butter
- Chocolate Frosting:
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons light cornsyrup
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 13x9-inch pan.
- Cream the butter and sugar on medium. Mix together the flour and salt in a separate bowl. Stir together the two mixtures. Spread in the prepared pan.
- Top with the peanut butter. Bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool.
- To make the frosting: melt the chocolate chips in the top of a double broiler. Mix in the water and syrup until well combined. Stir in the nuts. Spread the frosting over the cooled peanut butter bars.
