Make Nutbread with your favorite nuts. Spread with sweetened cream cheese for a wonderful breakfast treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Directions
- Sift together dry ingredients and add nuts. Combine egg, applesauce and oil; add to dry ingredients and stir until blended.
- Pour mixture into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes.
