No Peek Oven Cookies

No Peek Oven Cookies are left in the oven for 8 hours after baking.


  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1, 6 ounce package chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Beat egg whites until frothy. Add cream of tartar and beat as for meringue. Gradually add sugar and flavorings. When shiny and peaks form, stop beating. Fold in chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheets.
  2. Put in oven and turn off. Leave in oven 8 hours. Don't open oven door.
