This recipe for butterscotch pie makes two 9-inch pies; one to keep and one to share.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cups brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 9-inch pie crusts
Directions
- In a saucepan, mix together brown sugar, flour, butter and salt; cook until melted.
- Add milk.
- Beat egg yolks and slowly add to mixture.
- Add vanilla.
- Continue to cook until mixture becomes thick.
- Pour into pre-baked pie crust; meringue the top.
