Mustard Greens and Ham Hocks

Old fashioned greens and ham.


  • 1 bunch of mustard greens
  • 1 1/2 pounds ham hocks
  • 2 cups water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cane syrup


  1. Thoroughly wash the greens. place in a pot and add water.
  2. Brown the ham in a skillet in a tablespoon of fat. Add to the pot of greens. Cover and cook on medium low heat for 30 minutes.
  3. Stir in the syrup and salt, cover and cook for 10-15 more minutes.
