Mulled Wine with Brandy

Fruity red wine is combined with bourbon and then heated with a mix of flavorful and aromatic ingredients to give you this rich and heady drink.


  • 1/2 bottle red wine
  • 2 ounces brandy
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 star anise pods
  • 1 long strip orange peel
  • 1 long strip orange peel
  • lemon zest twists and cinnamon sticks to garnish


  1. Place all of the ingredients, except for the garnish, into a saucepan and warm over low heat being careful not to boil.
  2. Remove the pan from the heat and set aside for 10 minutes to allow the mixture to steep and the flavors to blend.
  3. Serve the mixture in heatproof mugs and garnish with lemon zest twists and cinnamon sticks.
