This vodka-based cocktail is currently making quite a comeback in NYC from its heyday in the 1950s and early 1960s. Serve in a traditional Russian copper mug.


  • 1-1/2 ounces vodka
  • Wedge of lime
  • Cold ginger beer
  • Dash of Angostura Bitters


  1. Place the vodka into a copper mug or cocktail glass.
  2. Squeeze in the lime and add the wedge to the glass, then add a dash of bitters.
  3. Fill the glass with cold ginger beer and serve.
