The smoky and peaty flavor of Scotch whiskey pairs surprisingly well with the anise flavorings of absinthe and the bright citrus zing from the fresh lemon juice.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 ounces Scotch whiskey
- 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 ounce Absinthe
- 1 egg white
- 1 bar-spoon sugar
- Soda Water
- 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
Directions
- Place all of the ingredients, except for the soda water and bitters, into a cocktail shaker and dry shake for 35 seconds.
- Open the shaker, fill with ice and then shake once again for 35 seconds.
- Strain the mixture into a cocktail glass, top with the soda water and the bitters and then serve immediately.
