Morning Glory Fizz Cocktail

The smoky and peaty flavor of Scotch whiskey pairs surprisingly well with the anise flavorings of absinthe and the bright citrus zing from the fresh lemon juice.


  • 1-1/2 ounces Scotch whiskey
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 ounce Absinthe
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 bar-spoon sugar
  • Soda Water
  • 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters


  1. Place all of the ingredients, except for the soda water and bitters, into a cocktail shaker and dry shake for 35 seconds.
  2. Open the shaker, fill with ice and then shake once again for 35 seconds.
  3. Strain the mixture into a cocktail glass, top with the soda water and the bitters and then serve immediately.
