A simple but tasty green bean and potato side dish.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds fresh green beans, snapped and washed
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4 slices, thick bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces and fried until crisp
- 5-6 medium new (red) potatoes, quartered
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
Directions
- Add the green beans and onion to a greased slow cooker. Mix in the bacon, potatoes and water. Season with the sugar and salt. Cook covered for 3-4 hours on low.
