- 1/2 cup butter
- 2-1/4 cups sugar
- 3 cups flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup almonds, chopped
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 egg whites
- Mix butter and sugar until creamy.
- Combine flour and baking powder, then add to butter mixture with milk.
- Stir in almonds and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, add salt to egg whites and beat very stiff.
- Fold egg whites into butter mixture.
- Bake in 3 cake pans at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
