Miso, which is a thick paste made from fermented soybeans and barley, adds a salty and slightly nutty taste to this delicious salad dressing. 


  • 1/3 cup rice vinegar

  • 3 tablespoons yellow or red miso
  • 3 large garlic cloves, peeled

  • 2 teaspoons sugar

  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh ginger
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise


  1. Place the rice vinegar, yellow or red miso, garlic, sugar, ginger, sesame oil, soy sauce, olive oil and mayonnaise into a blender, and process until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Serve immediately.
