Microwave Caramel Corn

Quick, sweet popcorn that can be coated using the microwave.


  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 quarts plain fresh popcorn
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda


  1. Mix together the sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt in a microwave safe dish. Microwave on High, until it comes to a boil and cook for 3 minutes.
  2. Stir in the baking soda until well mixed. Pour over the popcorn, stirring until well coated.
  3. Pour the popcorn into a large brown sack. Loosely, fold over the top and cook on high for 3 minutes, shaking every minute.
