Meringue for Pies adds a touch of elegance and drama.
Ingredients
- 3 egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
- Combine egg whites, cream of tartar and water. Beat at high speed for 3 minutes. Add sugar gradually, then salt and vanilla. Beat 3 or 4 minutes more or until it stands in peaks. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes to brown.
