Meringue For Pie

A simple meringue recipe.


  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 6 tablespoons sugar


  1. Set the egg whites out to bring them to room temperature. Use an electric mixer on medium to beat together the egg whites, vanilla and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  2. Add the sugar in, one tablespoon at a time, and continue beating on high until soft peaks form again.
  3. Spread over the pie and bake as directed.
