Dry rubs do not tenderize meats like marinades do, but they add amazing flavor and aroma. Try this spicy blend that is especially amazing on spare ribs.

  • 1 cup paprika
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup sea salt
  • 3 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons toasted, ground coriander seed
  • 2 tablespoons toasted, ground cumin seed
  • 2 tablespoons toasted, ground tellicherry pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard


  1. Place all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix well to combine. Transfer the mixture to an air-tight glass jar and store in a cool and dry location until ready to use.
